By High-Speed Rail

No station serves Dengfeng yet — the planned S2 Zhengzhou–Dengfeng intercity will one day end at Shaolin — so ride the HSR to Zhengzhou East or Luoyang Longmen and finish by intercity coach or tour transfer.

From Zhengzhou

Coaches from the central bus station ~2 hours to the temple gate.

From Luoyang

Dengfeng/Xuchang-bound coaches ~1.5 hours to the Shaolin junction, gate at the stop.

From Dengfeng

Bus 8 from the west bus station, ~30 minutes.

Getting Around

Inside the gate, shuttle buses run the long approach to the main courtyard; the Pagoda Forest is a 10-minute walk beyond.
