CHINA 5A TRAVEL
Jiuzhaigou sits 400 km north of Chengdu in Aba prefecture. Since 2024 the fastest route is high-speed rail to Huanglong-Jiuzhai station (about 1.5 hours), then a coordinated shuttle bus about an hour to the valley gate.

High-speed rail + shuttle
Chengdu East to Huanglong-Jiuzhai station, then the unified transfer bus to the valley gate - the recommended route.
From Huanglong
Two daily buses (about 2.5 hours) link the two UNESCO valleys - the classic pairing when both are on the itinerary.
Fly
Jiuzhai Huanglong Airport (Songpan) has flights from Chengdu and major cities; transfer to the gate by airport bus or charter, about 1.5 hours.
Long-distance bus
Chengdu Xinnanmen or Chadianzi stations, about 8-10 hours through Minjiang valley scenery - the old-school route.
Self-drive / tour
About 8 hours from Chengdu; 3-day tours combining Huanglong run from about ¥605-1,599 with rail.
Getting Around
Inside the valley, hop-on shuttle buses run the full Y with stops at every major lake; boardwalks connect the sights within each gorge section.
