Yannanfei Tea Fields Resort

Yannanfei Tea Fields Resort

梅州市雁南飞茶田景区·MeiZhou, Guangdong·South China

Yannanfei works as one ticket, two worlds — the manicured tea resort and the weathered village of Qiaoxi — best taken slowly, buggy up and walking down. These notes blend the official routes with recent travelers' experience.

Suggested Itinerary

  1. One day — Tea Fields & Roundhouses
Viewing-deck panorama → 3.2-km boardwalk through the terraces → Variety Grand Garden and Yan'e Lake → lunch with the Hakka show at Weilong Restaurant → gongfu tea ceremony → Sacred Stone photo on the way out.
  2. Two days — Resort Nights & Qiaoxi
Day 1: tea fields and gardens, then check into the Weilong Grand Hotel for the evening song-and-dance and sunrise mist from your balcony. Day 2: buggy out to Qiaoxi's 16 Qing mansions, then Ye Jianying Memorial Park or Lingguang Temple.
  3. Half day — Essence Only
Buggy up to the viewing deck, walk the boardwalk loop, free tea tasting at the pavilions, Sacred Stone on exit — compact and restful.

What to See

1

Tea-Field Boardwalk

The 3.2-km wooden walkway threading the oolong terraces — mist at dawn, golden rows at dusk, viewpoints throughout.

2

Yannanfei Sacred Stone

The entrance-axis landmark carved "geese fly south, affection in tea" — the resort's standard photo stop and symbolic heart.

3

Yan'e Lake & Hundred Flowers Garden

A clear 30-mu lake of Grade-I drinking water ringed by hills, beside a nursery turning out hundreds of thousands of seasonal pots a year.

4

Longna Mountain Ecological Valley

Prime secondary forest with protected tree ferns, silver pheasants and the 168-m "Swordsman" Waterfall — the cool, quiet flank of the resort.

5

Wangcha Pavilion & Stone Teapots

A rest pavilion above the terraces where the official Tea Field Tour pauses for a cup, watched over by carved stone teapots on the mountain path.

6

Qiaoxi Ancient Village

Sixteen Qing Hakka mansions along a stream — Jishan and Baoshan buildings foremost — with old trees, stone lanes and forest walkways.

Tips from Real Travelers

Food & Drink

Salt-Baked Chicken

The Hakka canon's king — crisp-skinned and juicy, done best in the roundhouse Weilong Restaurant (盐焗鸡).

Stuffed Tofu

Hakka home cooking's soul dish — tender tofu parcels that echo the northern dumplings of the migrants' memory (酿豆腐).

Braised Pork with Preserved Mustard Greens

Melt-in-the-mouth belly over Meizhou's famous huicai — rich, salty-sweet, irresistible with rice (梅菜扣肉).

Yellow-Rice-Wine Chicken

Free-range chicken braised in sweet Hakka rice wine — the warming taste of a grandmother's kitchen (娘酒鸡).
