Laohutan runs to a timetable, not a map: shows, feedings and bird displays set the clock, and the venues between them make for an easy stroll between hills and bay. These notes blend official guidance with recent travellers' experience.

What to See
Polar Aquarium
Belugas, polar bears, penguins and seals around an underwater viewing tunnel, plus the stadium dolphin-and-sea-lion show — allow about 1.5 hours.
Coral Hall
Reef tanks, tropical fish and a dreamlike jellyfish wall near the entrance — 40 minutes of pure colour, and the night-session venue in summer.
Happy Theatre
Sea lions and walruses doing comedy with clowns under a canopy — expect volunteers pulled on stage.
Marine Mammal Hall
The pirate-ship hall where seals and sea lions swim up for hand-fed fish; second-floor windows look straight out to sea.
Bird Garden
The hillside aviary across the water — peacocks on the walkways, a parrot star theatre and free-flight bird shows.
Cross-Sea Ropeway
Cable cars crossing the bay between the park's two sides — the best moving view of the rocky coastline.

Food & Drink
Sea-Gel Noodles
Dalian's summer cooler — translucent seaweed-gel noodles served cold in a garlic-vinegar dressing (海凉粉, hǎiliángfěn).
Braised Starch Rolls
Pan-fried sweet-potato starch cake, crisp outside and molten within, brushed with sesame-garlic sauce — Dalian's signature street snack (焖子, mènzi).
Yellow-Sea Seafood
Clams, sea urchin and whatever the boats brought in, steamed or grilled — Fisherman's Wharf nearby serves it with a lighthouse view.
Dalian Barbecue
Skewers with a Korean inflection, grilled over open flame — the city's warm-evening ritual.
